Do I need a permit to remove my own tree?
In Miami-Dade, often yes — it depends on the species, the size and where it sits. Some trees are exempt. Send us a photo and we'll tell you which side yours falls on before you spend anything.
What if the tree is close to the house?
That's rigging work — the tree comes down in pieces on ropes instead of being felled. It costs more than an open-yard drop and it's the reason insurance matters.
